Meet our small, but mighty friend: The Wedge.

Its simple, but was designed to solve a problem. For decades, I’ve had my patients use a lacrosse ball to mobilize their foot (this is lateral column release you’ve seen in the “is your foot flat” test at the bottom of the FOOT page (which you should REALLY TAKE!!!!)

Lacrosse balls are cheap, but they present 2 problems:

  1. to do this mobilization RIGHT, you move your foot, and not the ball. Most people don’t pay attention to this important fact, do it wrong, and don’t get the benefit.

  2. If you have a foot that is a woman’s size 7.5 or smaller, the lacrosse ball is too tall. With a smaller foot, it simply requires more ankle motion than most people have, and it doesn’t work.

So the solution is to cut a lacrosse ball in half. And it does work quite well. But one of the biggest causes of ER visits is improperly cutting bagels….and cutting a lacrosse ball is QUITE challenging (and way more sketchy than cutting a bagel!) We want to keep you out of the ER!

The Wedge solves both these issues for MOBILITY help, AND allows you to get STABILITY gains as well.

The WEDGE Improves MOBILITY

I’ve always said “Stiffness wins” - you can’t put a foot with a super stiff lateral column into your stability, proprioception, and balance work and expect to get solid progress. But you WILL earn solid progress putting a supple foot into your stability training.

The Wedge is designed to perform a lateral column release as well as a transverse arch release. These 2 exercises take about 90 seconds each. The WEDGE Improves STABILITY

We see your social media posts, and know that a LOT of you LOVE using the slant board feature on your MOBO by putting your fins in the FORWARD slots.

Well, to increase tissue load we train strength-through-length

  • By increasing the dorsiflexion of the big toe, you get more range of motion in your calf raises, for more benefit on each rep.

  • If you use it logo-side-up it will give you 27 degrees of big toe dorsiflexion, and if you flip it over you’ll get 35 degrees. So you can tailor it to where you are right now.

  • Tripod Calf raise just might become your new best-friend-calf-raise-variant. You can find all videos for all these right here under the FOOT.
